Play Full Screen on N80

8 replies · 7,809 views · Started 11 June 2006

Hi Guys,

I have read some threads that the N80 can only play 352x288 on video playback.
I tried the "Super" but the result is the same 352x288 but with good quality.

Then I tried another one "WinMEnc 0.61". After converting the video then played back on my N80 and found that it's full screen 352x416.

I hope this can help solve the problem playing full screen video on N80.

Here is the link you can download the "WinMEnc 0.61":

hi
could be be so nice to post your exact settings? i tried to make it workin 4 me but comes to nuthin :|

it has been mentioned many times now but noone seems to read it....

SmartMovie for N80 allows you to play FULL RES (352x416) Xvid / DivX / Mpg / quicktime etc...

Playback quality is amazing, looks even better than PSP / Ipod Video.... shame the N80 doesnt have a cable for TV OUT!

Unfortuanatly the smartmovie software is not free though.... but it is definatly worth it!

chervee,

1) Open WinMEnc 0.61.

2) Add Files

3) Load Profile--->choose [IPOD MP4] DIVX 320x240 29.97fps 500kbps, LC-AAC 48kHz 128kbps.ini or [IPOD MP4] XVID 320x240 29.97fps 500kbps, LC-AAC 48kHz 128kbps.ini

4) Go to "Video" and the default Video Bitrate (kbps) should be 500 and just leave it.

5) At Video Size Choose 352X288.

6) At Video Frame (fps), just choose from 15 to 29.970.

That's it!

When you play the video on N80 choose Full Screen and you will have full screen video playback. Actually, the resolution of the video is still in 352X288 but when you choose full screen the video will be stretched to fit the screen size at 352X416.

Hope this helps.

thx 4 answer, but my problem still exists. i did it exactly like you, received converted file, but when i transfer it to the phone (tried main folder, videos, videos/date folderz) i can't open it by file manager - it says "file cannot be opened" (similiar to that, cos' i use polish language). i can't see that movie also in gallery. im afraid ill have to try 3gp, but as far as i heard it has much worse quality. im tryin' to do that cos' i wanna watch WM 2006 highlights in traffic 😃

chervee,

Did you load the profile in step 3 correctly? Or do you have all the codec?

@ gazp - maybe its worth for someone who will really use it for watchin' movies. i just wanna to see how does it look like in the phone, and have highlights with me. in less than month i will finish my CarPuter project - 10,4" touchscreen, pIII 400 mhz, 40gb hd, sirf star III gps, bluetooth with phonecontrol (when proper version will appear 😊) and few additional gadgets, so it has no sense to buy a soft, which i will use for few weeks, irregularly.
@ octupus - yup, and also i tried many other settings, and comes to nothing, the problem is, i think, in codecs. but it shouldn't be - i use also Divx Converter to convert my movies, and WinAvi media converter, but they don't support realmedia :| the question is, why do you choose IPOD MP4 - which in fact is divx/xvid? shouldn't this be x264 codec?
--------
edit: ok, its done 😊 i did it with great enough quality with "super" program. the name of it says exactly what i think about this converter - i can throw away all others, that i used to convert with 😊 3gp with mpeg4 codec/aac (432kbps+112kbps sound) makes superb full screen movies - even overcomes my expectations 😊 thx anyway!

chervee,

It's nice to hear that you have solved the problem.
by the way, I've tried the "Super" too it works fine and the quality is real good too.

Cheers!
