Stuck in WLAN

Can't remember exactly what I set, but the phone will not allow me to access the internet from any source other than WLAN. Even on the bookmarks which have a specified data connecton of GPRS for sites like wap.yahoo, it defers to WLAN. Can anyone help? Thanks.:

yes this bug has happened to me also..

Im presuming in WEB settings, you have access point set to "Always Ask"

AT first this was fine, listed Vodafone Live! and WLAN etc for me...

but after a week, it started only listing WLAN points and no others.

What firmware are you on may i ask? (Press *#0000# and copy that info to here)

To get around it you must actually specify an access point in WEB settings, to Vodafone Live! or whatever.... This is very annoying though, as when at home I have to change setting to HOME Wlan....

NOKIA PLEASE FIX THIS!!

Also, why cant you rename files in Gallery? you have to be in on the actual file to rename. Also very annoying!

I have the same problem. It was working fine until one day I switched the profile to offline. Then tried to access the web and every since then mine is stuck in WLAN. When I go into the browsers settings, I choose my GPRS/EDGE internet and then try to connect but it still says Searching for Easy-WLAN or something like that. However when I updated the firmware to V3.0617.0.6 it sorta fixed it. Ive heard that when you flash it'll delete all your bookmarks. When I access the web from the home screen it doesnt have my bookmarks and I can use my GPRS by setting it (not working with Always Ask). But when I go to Menu and then Services it still has my old bookmarks and that same problem. Nokia should do something about this. Its been pissing me off for the last week.

I'm here in the USA, so basically it seems I am up the creek without a paddle. To make things more complicated me and my company are all entirely Mac. I'm trying to find a consultant who I can pay to help me, unless anyone outhere has a suggestion for Flashing in the U.S......

Have you tried the following:

Switch phone to offline, then to General, then reboot.

Check settings - specify the access point. You should be able to switch back to always ask later.

Add a new access point (copy your old one if it is available). This should mean there is a new one to choose from and it should make your old ones reappear too.

Finally: Device reset - extreme I know but should default settings back to factory.

Hi nyct

In case you have not fathomed it out, go to :-

MY OWN > WEB > Answer NO to "Connection to server needed?" > OPTIONS > SETTINGS & edit Access Point to anything other than your WLAN AP

Hope that helps
