I want to play mp4 files on my 9300i. when I play mp4 videos which was taken on N80 it plays only sound but no video.
How to play mp4 on 9300i
Me too. Same problem. Anyone else? Is this a W.A.D.? (Works As Designed.)
Why not just convert it to AVI format using a converter like Smartmovie?
Because the phone doesn't seem to play AVI files.
So, no one knows how to fix this problem?

The 9500's ROM doesn't have the right (AVC/H.264) video codec, it's too old a machine now.
Sorry. Though I really don't see why Nokia couldn't add this codec in a firmware upgrade...... 8-(
I added SmartMovie as recommended. It was annoying at first to pay another $30, but well worth it.
Attempting to work with the extremely wide screen of the phone, I picked Evita. I ripped it, cropped it some more, converted it to a standard mpeg at 640x200, and then used SmartMovie on it.
It took an hour and a half (and I have a crankin' machine), but it was marvelous. I got spectacular results using "Series 80 fullscreen", 256k, and "reduce frames" checked. Emanently watchable.
So, nuts to MP4.
