I can't bring myself to try the flash again, it nearly drove me mad and i got to the last stage b4 it said flash failed:frown:

Only other place to get it done as far as I know is a Nokia service center, or maybe CPW, call Nokia UK for the closest dealer to you.
i've found somewhere, really sounded like they knew their stuff too. apparently there is another update on the way.
if they do a good job and seem competent, i'll try and get them to tell me how long till the next one and what fixes it'll have. going to try tomorrow after work.
ok for anyone in east london, excel phone palace in crossharbour on the DLR will flash your phone for free under warranty. the only downer is that they flashed it with the orange nonsense firmware.
Still the browser now renders beautifully and fast and those bugs are sorted that are adressed by the update. He also rekoned that another update will be due in a month. Also they actually banswer the phone, unlike those muppets at car phone whore house, who feed you with BS about updates and how its not available yet, etc etc. Muppets.
