Problem with N80 Contacts

Anyone tried sorting their contacts???

I couldn't find the "settings" option in my contacts. Anybody knows why?

My software version of my N80 is v3.0617.0.6.

May be a firmware difference. You miss out of name display option (i.e. the ability to have First name, last name not last name, first name)

Name display option??? I can't find one in the menu....???

In the Contacts app: Options > Settings > Name display (the only setting there).

In the Contacts app: Options > Do not have "Settings"

This rings a bell. The exact same thing happened to me with an N70. It also completely borked all of my contacts when I synced it with Outlook. Unfortunately I have no answer, I hated the N70 so much that it went back after a week, this was just one of a litany of issues I had with it.

I suggest you ask on the Nokia forum on the Nokia website, I know they have an employee that reads those threads from time to time to try help with any problems.

what version firmware did you upgrade to i.e. V01, V02 etc

just got another N80 today, this one is new firmware by default (Made in finland under battery)

It does not have any options or settings in the contacts menu... wierd?

Are you sure it is not there? Did you scroll down the whole options menu (only the first few options are shown and you need to scroll up or down to see more)?

Yes, I'm sure. I have scroll up/down and open up any menu I see (including sub-menus) more than 6 times....( I have owned 3650,6600,6670,N70 and have played quite alot with symbian phones ) hence, I confirmed that some problems with my N80 , version 3.0617.0.6. :con?

Depending what region you are in you might have no settings in your contacts book. I had the same problem but recently flashed it with firmware from Europe and voila.. settings back.

iv also got the settings, i secently did a firmware update with my pc to the .6 software using language pack v08 and settings r fine!
