I bought a N70 deskstand/spare battery charger for �5, and a spare battery for �8....
yes its an N70 stand, but the N80 fits reasonably well... Was all great, charging my spare whilst charging the phone.... but the 5th or 6th time I placed the handset on the unit, it some how bent the charging pin inside the n80. (Trying to straighten it resulted in it snapping off.) I think it was just slightly off.. i didnt even use any force. I dont see the point in the new smaller size connector.... the pin is smaller and much weaker!!
This left me with a un-chargeable handset! (Other than charging the battery in stand luckily!)
Well anyway, insurance would probably cover this as accidental damage.. but the handset had other faults and i managed to get a swap today. (Southampton now has the NEW FIRMWARE in stock.... and widely available.... 30 came into phones4u today, as apposed to the 1 or 2 a week before!)
