USB OBEX Interface

This may be a bit peripheral to this discussion but any suggestions most welcome.

I'm attempting to set up opensync to connect my m a925 to a sunbird calendar for syncing. One of the things I need to find to set up the sunbird-sync plugin is something called my
usb obex interface.

I've followed instructions that say to connect the phone to the computer by the usb cable and issue the command

sudo syncml-obex-client -u

and it should show me the interfaces, however it gives back nothing as

sudo syncml-obex-client -u
Found 0 USB OBEX interfaces
Use '-u interface_number' to connect

If anyone knows can you tell me if I'm missing something to do with obex on the computer, or alternatively something on the phone is set incorrectly or missing, or last alternative is that this phone simply can not do this?

Thanks a bunch

Jim

Actually, I suggest you drop the idea of using "OBEX sync" right away. It's most likely not supported anyway.

You should look into using SyncML instead. It's what the Sync application built in to the A925 uses. It's relatively simple to set up and works very well.

I see that you have a BT adapter. Use it 😉 See http://a925.albatorsk.com for more details.

Thanks for this. I have tried to use this before but find it very difficult to get the dund part to work, likely something in my setup ... Are you referring to the newer version of opensync? I'm trying to use it because it has a plugin for Mozilla Sunbird which I use, but so far have not been able to get the two to talk to each other . Any chance you could help me debug the desktop suite connection?

Thanks

Jim
