N80 backwards compatibility

I'm thinking about getting the N80 but i need to know;

Can it run most (if not all) series 60 non 3rd edition apps? :con?
I have a nokia 6630 and i want to move my applications over.

Also can the camera be set silent?

Thanks 😊

It will only run 3rd Edition app. It will not run any 2nd edition apps.

The camera is silent in silent profile (I think).

Alternatively, turn keypad tones off in the active profile and it will disable the camera sound as well.

You can turn the noise off, but you cannot disable the flash. Every time you take a picture - even in direct sunlight, a small flash will go to let your subject know you are taking a picture.

Are there any convertors or emulators that allow snd edition apps to run?

i heard something about playing nes roms on the n80.I think it was in stuff magazine but hvnt been able to find it again

oh no, ive already got them 😉

I meant an application that can run series 60 2nd edition
applications on the n80. Or a program that can convert 2nd --> 3rd edition.

That way most (if not all) my apps/games from my 6630 will work on n80.

No S60 2nd Edition application can run on S60 3rd Edition. No program will ever be able to make them run. No program will ever be able to convert them. It is technically not possible to do it.

This applies to native applications.

Java application will work regardless.
