Just wondering if Symbian is powerful enough to create an application based on remotecam such that sending an //RECA message would immediately open the remotecam program and take a shot. This would sure help track stolen phones 😊 but disadvantage: privacy can be affected. But still such a program would be great.

You could use the "Start-up" program to have the program start auto when the phone is turned on.

But you have to remember that the phone would have to be open otherwise you would be getting some pretty dark photo's back :-?

Hmm.. but i dun think that would send the pic back to the phone you are typing the sms in. :-?

So you mean, you would want it to send an MMS message to the phone the message was sent from?

I can't see that being to difficult to do...But you still have the problem of having the phone open.

Say there is such a program.....a *#7370# will do the trick and you lose you phone forever! I heared something about A.I. Security on networks....the network learns how you use your phone.....and if someone steals it from u.....the AI Network understands that because the new person will call other numbers etc....and they are going to send a SMS which makes the phone useless...

😮 WOW! Even I am working for an Operator (so I am relative with the "backstage" 😉 ), I must say that this one amazed me!
Maybe I should try to learn more about networks' evolution 😮ops: 😉

what happen if my friend borrow the phone 😃

As I see you are working in Greece, which might have Network, but thei only receive technology, they dont innovate! If I remeber correctly it was from Orange and Vodafone in the UK.

Hmm.. but once lost, there's a 1% chance you will get it back. My friend has a lock code for his phone that every time you on it, you would have to key in the code but it got stolen and of course the phone is useless to the thief but once lost is lost, the thief won't return u back so what's the point of having this type of security, it's the same as cancelling your line. :-?
With that remote cam program, you would have a chance to get it back coz surely the person would open up the 7650, we all know that chances are a first timer would usually open it up for and with this program, probably you are gonna track him down...50%+ chance if he's in your neighbourhood.

the first thing a thief will probably do is dump your sim. therefore you won't be able to use any of this anyway? that's what i'd do......if i were to steal a phone.
