N80 - Please post known 1GB & 2GB miniSD cards that are compatible please

Hi guys

N80 on order from Orange, should be with me tomorrow but I'd like to know which miniSD card to go for.

I fancy a 2GB card and was looking at the Sandisk cards on ebay for @ £30 but I am not sure if they're compatible. Some posts say yes and others say no. If the 2Gb cards are hit and miss I might have to plump for a 1GB instead.

Please post what you have had success with.

i got the MyMemory 2GB 133X PRO Mini SD

it is theoretically the fastest type available (or almost anyway)

seems to work fine, although i have nothing to compare it with. i never even used the 128 meg card that came with the phone.

I'd spotted that generic Mymemory card before but was unsure whether it would be OK. I have bought from www.mymemory.co.uk before because their prices are so competitive.

I will definately put this one to the top of the list for price and speed.

personally I wouldn't buy a memory card off ebay again, every one I have bought in the past off ebay has been dodgy or unreliable...stick to an online established dealer like digimem or whoever. You'll get a card that works for a little bit more. My sandisk 1gb card bought from digimem works a treat

Hiya,

bought the following;

MobyMemory High-Speed 2GB mini-SD Card.
PRO 150X SLC miniSD memory card
www.mobymemory.com (~40ukp)

Got compability problems with my n80 & firmware (01) v3.0614.0.3.
Phones says corrupt mem card once and a while....
Pretty sure this is an issue with phone as on pc card works fine...

Will try new firmware soon, and post if it fixes anything...

I 've bought a mini SD SanDisk 1GB from Ebay and it works fine on the PC but when I insert it into the N80 it comes back with "memory card corrupted"

Can anybody advise what I should do?

Bought the same, i have the new firmware (didn't flash) and no problems here. Very happy user 😊

Mine is Kingston 1gb - works fine, very stable. lifetime warranty.

WARNING!!

I bought my SanDisk 1GB miniSD card of eBay for £25 and it was shipped from Hong Kong. The card works on my PC but when I connect it to the N80 it says 'memory card corrupted.' I've phoned SanDisk and they checked the serial number and said it was a fake and thats why it doesnt work in the phone. The card has correct SanDisk markings and a hologram at the back with serial starting with DAA.. SanDisk said the serial should start with BB.

i've got one of those 2gb sandisk cards off ebay, works perfect in my n80, i did get the 'memory card corrupted' message once but only because i reinserted it before pressing 'ok' and i just removed it and put it back in and all was fine, and if its a fake its a very good one

Just an update on the card i bought.

twice now it has stopped being detected by the phone. I had to reboot the phone to get it to be detected again. I didn't take it out and put it back in, just rebooted.
maybe it's a phone problem? I have the latest firmware.

so maybe don't get the memory i got, just to be on the safe side.

Also have the Sandisk 2Gb but my card doesn't work at all. The phone keeps displaying "no memory card" I do have the latest firmware. Bad luck.

Mem card arrived to-day 1 week from ordering it works in the phone perfectly and appears to be genuine. Im a happy bunny 😊

I only live 8 miles away from this seller's item location, I wonder if he'll knock the postage off if I collect? ....NOT! .....why oh why have postage @£10? don't see the point...it says he was member in Hong Kong, but item is from Preston?

I have asked the seller aquestion about total costs if I collect, he seems to have 2 GB Sandisk mini sd on Buy it now for £14.99 plus post......check out the ebay shop......I will let you all know the outcome.
