Bluetooth handsfree???

28 replies · 5,270 views · Started 28 November 2002

You can't, cause the bluetooth in the 7650 does not support "audio profile" that means you can only send data and you can't get a handsfree for it.

Smiley...
Please give me some of ur patience and forbearance. You are so kind and gentle. You are a real :lilangel: to be answering all those questions for the N * N to the Power of N+1th time!!!

PS: We certainly dont mind helping ppl, answering queries, fun talk ( for our post counts 😉 ). We were all newbies at one time . But those issues that have been made clear everywhere... Manual, Forums, Ads, Word of mouth?? How can one miss those? Dont people ever read anything?

...unless someone writes some little app to take data from the speaker and divert it via Bluetooth, and take streaming audio data from the microphone on the headset, send it via bluetooth, and then give it to the program and pretend it's straight from the phone's mic.

It's unlikely (at least for a while), so as the man 😊 says...

am i the only peep here that thinks nokia are completely f**king stupid for not implementing this?!?!

what bright spark came up with two different profiles for bluetooth anyway? bluetooth voice & data............voice is data !

nokia = retards

if they tried.......they could write a small app taking the feed from the phone and sending it using software as bletooth audio

but they wont....coz even though the 7650 is a tremendous phone.....the corners they cut are astounding.

no bluetooth audio
only 4 meg ram free to play with. i mean seriously. i have a watch with 32 mb ram in it for mp3s !
no memory stick option

how close was this phone to perfection...!!!

Perfect Phone = for Customers and  for Manufacturers

Something missing = 😞 for Customers and 😃 for Manufacturers (upgrades)

😃 😃

It's got to be agreed that Nokia were a little short-sighted not implementing the audio over BT feature... for the sake of adding a "few lines of code" (yeah, riiiiiight) we'd end up with a proper BT enabled phone...

Shame really...

Well as someone once putted it: "nobody is perfect" But then there was the sequel "but my name is nobody 😃" ((this is reserved as future signature material, since my signature is still new))

😃

Well about sanjay, thanx for the compliments I'm really 😮ops: now 😃. And yes there should be people looking around a little in the forum, or at least the manual (it's not that stupid, the manual does say everything you know 😃)
But i hate to find 0 replies for a post, even if i have no idea what to say when replying!!!

It really pisses me off, i once asked some questions in a PPC forum and nobody replied, some friendlyness i must say!

i think it's a market strategy by Nokia

cos nokia is not releasing any BT handsfree until now

(Nokia stops the production of HDW-1)

and nokia doesn't want its customer to buy other branded BT handsfree so Nokia just take out the Audio profile in 7650

btw i;m still confused bout this BT profile is it a hardware issue or just software issue ???
Probably software!
so in the other words

someone can add this audio profile ????

if yes my dream comes true 😃 😃 😃

I am not sure...this will probably ned a more direct access to the bluetooth hardware...which isnt supported by the APIs and SDK!

how bout the flashbox

but it's just to flash the ROM

huh.. it must be some other way

and all bt chipssupposed to be 1.1 standard which support audio and other profiles isn;t it ??????

Chek this page... http://www.plantronics.co.za/ and chek M1500 model...

Its compatible with nokia 8850, only you can conect adaptor to minijack handsfree conector, This conector its same as nokia 7650..

I have Nokia 8850 Hansfree and work perfectly in my 7650, maybe... if you conect the adaptor of M1500 in Nokia 7650 this work, and VOALAAAA... you can hands free Bluetooth

:agrue: :agrue:
Sorry for my englishhh...

Yes, that will work. Nice piece of HW.
No mention of size there though. 😞 But looks quite small.
😃

Good find. That should pacify many BT Handsfree cravers 😊 . This infact is going to be more funtional than a Nokia BT Handsfree, as it fits many phone models. And maybe, even, with a li'l adapter to plug into a regular Headhphone jack is going to be even more useful on a wide variety of audio devices😊 (Diskmans, Mp3 players..)

On a personal note i think, it was more a craving for a missing functionality of the phone itself, rather than an addon adapter. There're still going be questions about 7650 generic handsfree support (or rather the lack of it) and the Speculations/ Hope / Quest to make it work.

I am in South Africa where that headset is made. I will try give them a call, and find out about compatibility with 7650, and also see if I can get them to do some research into this topic. Seems like a good alternative for the present time.
Will post any info I get from them.

This was posted a long time ago! However, if I am not mistaken there was a guy that actually bought this and it didnt work! When he emails support they told him that they will email him a piece of software! He is waiting still as far as I know!

Can you comfirn that it will for sure work on Nokia7650? Where can we find this HW? Any where in Asia?

Please give solid fact and prove that it work on 7650. I will want to know more about it in detail.

they sent me time recently a mail, they said that not yet they had the device in stock, I believe that it is impossible that somebody has even bought it.

I dont see why that would not work. Only thing that can be wrong is that
the plug is different size from the nokia's standard one.
And if it works with 8850 it should be the same.

Logitech have a new wireless microphone possibly compatible with our 7650, it uses an ultralow frecuency for avoid interferences with other high frecuency systems like BT and 802.11a/b.

Oh, and don't forget the fact that it isnt Tri-band. Most new nokia phones are these days!

i really dont care about tri-band, purely for the fact that Australia's backwards IT outlook basically means that they consider users dont want to take advantage of new technology.

to quote senator alston, minister of IT and communications:

Australia doesnt need government funding to upgrade our broadband infrastructure, its only wasted on porn and kids playing games

lol

i love the aussie governement......they are so down to earth

lol D

Well if there is a alternate solution for it.. i will sure invest on it... It's really a pitty that NOkia 7650 doesn't have BT audio..

I heard that Nokia will enable the Bluetoth-Function for Headset and Car installation in the new Software-Version comming at the beginning of 2003 (in Germany. Knowing nothing about other states.)
