E61 Unreliable E-mail IMAP Idle Client

IMAP Idle on the E61 works, and the pushmail functionality works.
However the mail client in practice will hang 2 or 3 times a day in a
"Connected state" and the E-mail will stop being pushed.

It is then necessary to disconnect manually the mail client,
and everything will start working again. This is very annoying as you
need to regularly check your phone to make sure that it has not enterred
into this hanged state.

I suspect although i have no evidence of that fact, that this related to the fact that the phone looses from time to time access to the network and unfortunatly seem to not be able to always recover from those situations.

I have not found any work arround to this problem that make the push-mail functionality through the use of IMAP idle unrelaible and therefore unusable. Does anyone has any solution to this problem ?

I also tested the balvkberry software provided by nokia on the E61.
I have not encountered any reliability problem with it.

I found this sometimes happened with POP accounts set to auto retrieve (on other S60 phones) although after a while it starting working again without intervention.
