Is it possible for my N80 to comunicate with my Laptop through WIFI? If so how??

I have read the manual and as far as I can see it is not possible.

Any help very welcome!

yeah i would like to know how to connect to my laptop aswell.
have installed simple centre home media server, but all i get is "searching for devices" on phone and thats as far as it goes.
can connect to the internet through wifi, just can`t transfer files between laptop and phone, or vise versa.
any help would be, erm, helpfull.
thanks

Finaly I have recieved mine.

Managed to get on the internet with my phone that was easy but when I wanted to create a network at home using my wireless router it was a no go. Could not share files at all it just said waiting for devices.

Same when I tryed to do it ad-hoc with my laptop (no router present) the phone saw the network (the simble apeared) the laptop was conected to the phone (good signal) but I could not share files. I know for a fact file shating is allowed on the phone.

Anyone shed some light? on the above?

So what good applications are out for this phone?

Scott

Try SimpleCenter. On the CD rom which came with the N80. I can stream from laptop to phone and vice versa through my wifi router.

The whole concept of ad hoc is that you don't need a router. I installed media center, but the program was, frankly, shite.

I still haven't managed to browse the internet through an ad hoc connection, which I'd really like to do. I have, however, managed to listen to internet radio channels through wlan with the application mentioned in some other thread.

Apple Powerbook connected to internet via network cable and set up for Ad-Hoc and sharing (bridge the wire connection to the WiFi connection).
N80 set up to work with Ad-Hoc network. Tried it with infastructure settings as well.

I worked on this for a full day and no joy. Almost though. I got it to connect and attempt to load web pages, however, Error - "No reply from Gateway" message after about 10 seconds trying to load web page.

I tried changing most every setting on the phone including No Security, Both WEP password Security options, and everything else.

I now believe it to be a bug in the N80 firmware (my opinion). Am going to try upgrading to the latest firmware (posted recently on this site) and try again.

It is not possible to stream media from your PC to your phone via wifi using SimpleCenter Home Media Server is it? I installed it and this was not an option.
