Hello there,
Unfortunatly ive been infected with the skulls virus......i have done some research but unfortunatly i have turned the phone off and now all that loads is the inital nokia at the bottem, it fades out and then appears again as if on a loop.
Many of the removal methods seem to depend and focus on phones that havn't been turned off since the virus is installed. The reason i switched off my phone was that it was sending SMS msgs to my contacts and wanted to remove my SIM while i figured out the problem.
I have another clean phone and a card reader for my PC and was wondering if anyone can help. I have installed the remover tool onto another memory card and placed it into the infacted phone, but as i say, the phone loops during startup.
I have even held the pen button during startup trying to get into safe mode.
Any help would be much appreciated
Can't you just hard reset it? The usual 'Green' '*' '3' all held down for 10 secs while starting up.
That'll wipe the phone back to factory state.

Thanks man, I phoned nokia and all they said for to bring it in for repair, since i was going to Cyprus the next day and needed to use the phone on holiday they gave me the same restart code. Ive got myself some anti-virus too and reformatted all my MMC cards so im now good to go. Thanks for the tip tho!
hi! i think i got the same problem with dorando > the skulls virus. im not just sure if thats it. it started though, when i forgot to hide my bluethooth.then i receive this message via bluetooth and i accidentally pressed OK. my phone then does nothing but restarting. i can go to the messages>inbox but cant go far enough to delete the file before it turns off again. i dont think though that if i can erase that stupid .sis file, it will solve the problem. 😡
i will still try to do that hard reset and see if it works. if it won't, anything else that you can advise me to do before going to the nokia care centre?
thanks much! :con?
You "accidentally pressed OK"? And then accidentally pressed OK *again* to accept installation and then *again* to acknowledge that the application wasn't trusted, etc?
Seriously - I'm fascinated. What were your thought processes during this - what did you think you were installing?
Steve
Steve, she's a woman... Women curiosity, you know 😉
Hi!
yeah, women's curiosity. thanks man!
its the commwarrior virus. tried the hard reset and it worked. at least without the memory card. i also installed antivirus. but i think i have to format the card. when there's memory card, it sends the virus too in MMS format everytime I send messages. so i have to use the phone without the card until i got it formatted or until i get a new one. i tried to download something about F-secure but it sure didnt work on me. 😮
Just hope some "men" out there would have a heart to give helpful hints to this "woman". 🙄
Thanks! :icon14:

Oh, and by the way i just accidentally pressed OK once..when the bluetooth message arrived..then my phone went on turning on and off. :icon4:
Hmm..... I don't understand that. If it was an app being beamed via Bluetooth then you'd still have to go through the usual Symbian OS install screens.... F-Secure's site confirms this too....
Steve
wow, i made that post ages ago! yeh well i had to reset it using some hard reset code (sorry i can't remember it) but it certainly cleaned my phone up. Only thing was that i lost all my contacts, maybe someone on these forums can help you link the phone to ur PC and maybe extract ur contacts???? But in my case, i had to fly out the next day, so i needed a quick solution........and the hard reset was my only option!
Actually, i already did the hard reset. It worked..but not totally. I still have to format my memory card. Unless there is another way aside from that. Thanks anyway.😊

Weird, huh..but it happened. 😮
Im just glad I learned from this thread how to do the hard reset. That helped a lot! Have any advise to kill that worm aside from formatting?
Well, you could try this little app instead of wiping out the whole MMC/phone information:
