I have posted this one the Nokia discussion with no avail I was wondering if anybody on here has found a solution. I've had my E61 for about a month now and recently my backlight refuses to come on. I have tried messing with the display adjustments but that seems to do everything but resolve the problem. I know this phone has a ambient light sensor I just don't know where it is located on the phone. The diagram of the phone in the manual doesn't list it. Has anyone figured out how to fix this problem I know a few others are experiancing this as well. I currently have two E61's the other is my girl friends and hers works just fine it is only mine that has this problem.
E61 Backlight problem
This sensor should located at the same position as the LED indicator (front top left). As soon as I put my finger on this LED, the display starts to fade.
Thanks alot Richard I tried coving the LED up on my phone that works and it activated the backlight right away and as soon as I moved my finger off of it the lights turned off. I tried this a few times and it worked each time. When I tried to do it on my phone it does nothing so I guess my phone is just defective. I contacted the seller I purchased the phone from to see what they would say. Hopefully I can get a new working phone.
