Whats people opinion about the introduction of 18 months contracts ?

I personally dont like them, if your mobile packs up after the 12 month manufacturer period, you are stuffed..(Unless you pay the monthly rip off insurance charge.

Given most phones are worth virtually nowt after 12 months, i suspect its another way of companies getting us to sign up to another contact for a new phone, while hanging on for the old one to finish...

Comments welcome😊

The N80 comes with 2 years limited warranty as far as I know, I have just signed up to 18 months, you can upgrade after 12 months if you are in a 18 month contract with some networks anyway....if in doubt ask the question with the provider you are signing up with.

Personally I steer well clear of 18 month deals, just a way for operators to keep you tied down for longer 12 months is more than enough for me and most aren't allowing upgrades at 12 months anymore.

well i normally get bored with a fone after 6 months tops , but it normally means i wont get a upgrade for 14-16 month on average due to me wanting best model e.g now one thats been out for more then a month.

if im guna upgrade i want it withing the first week of its release date , hate have a fone thats too common .

i dnt mind 18 month contracts coz u get the latest fones even cheaper than with a 12 month contract, e.g. voda wanted 120GBP for n80 on 12 month contract on 40GBP tarif, i got mine free on 18 month at only 30GBP a month, so i took the free option!
