Tested UltraMp3 + OggPlay. Both crashes N70. Will firmware update help ?

Hi all, I use my N70 a lot for listening to Podcasts. I have no music on it. Only podcasts.

Looking for players with smaller fonts to read the long podcast titles etc. and after
reading up on the recommendations around the net for UltraMp3 and OggPlay,
I have now tested them for the last couple of days. I'm I disappointed.

All versions of OggPlay crashed my N70 while searching for tracks.

Latest version 1.52 of UltraMp3 crashed when I clicked Next Track in my playlist.
(no other UltraMp3 version tested)

Now, I use a 1GB MMC holding the Podcasts (mix of mp3 and aac)
and the N70 firmware is 3.0546.2.3.

Have you experienced the same kind of problems and have you been able to
get the player(s) to work I would like to hear about it.

Maybe a firmware upgrade to 5.0609.2.0.1 would help ?

Ps. No problems playing the same podcasts with the build-in music player.

Regards
Michael

Hi Michael,

Just upgraded my firmware to latest generic but not used my N70 until today with UltraMP3 but it seems to work fine with my music MP3's going back and forth.

Hope it helps.

OggPlay works great on my n70 with podcasts in mp3, wma, or ogg format.

I'm on the fw2.

I've stated this before and it is proven...if you have any bxnPda software on your phone it usually creates problems for many apps, including music players.

OggPlay works well on my n70 with mp3. And I have the first software version on N70.

It never works for me! I also tried taking every app off and just having Oggplay installed ant it didn't work. Using a mobymemory 1gb card..

Any ideas? :S

If you have any xxxpda apps installed on your phone Oggplay will not work.

Yeah, thats the thing though. I uninstalled every app from my phone and just stuck Oggplay on and it didnt work.

Ahhh! My memory is coming back.. something about the speed of my memory card not being fast enough for oggplay? errrm..
