Before i buy the phone i would like to ask:
1) Will i be able to access internet from hotpoints eg airport, schools etc or only from hone network with wireless router.
2) If yes how would i do that, do i need to configure it or will it do it automatically.

1) Yes you can connect to any AP (encrypted WEP only if you know the key)
2) You will need to manually seach for a WLAN and then connect to it. It does not continously scan for an active AP, christ if it did the battery would only last 1 hour!!

ye as said u canget onto networks theres allso a ho spot finder software u can buy , but runing this on constantly , would kill the battery in no time

As far as i know most hot spots in UK dont need key. I mean the ones on cafes,airport,pubs and offices.

This maybe a silly question, but how do you search for an active Wi-Fi?
Do I go into the following setting and it should be visable?
Connect -> Conn mgr -> Availab. WLAN

Yes, then you have to define access point by options -> define
I think you can also search for available wifi hotspots by going into web browser, mine asks me if I want to search for available wifi access points
