Recording as you speak in a conversation

Suppose I call a Tech help line and want to record the info/help spoken to me (and they don't mind of course!), what do I press to activate the recording while on the phone call?
Or... do I have to go to the recording app and open it then press record - seems a long way around if that is the only way. I was thinking that there is a quick way because when you are on a call you don't often have time to put the person on hold, make a few clicks etc. and then record.
Unless I am misunderstanding the whole point....

How about assigning a shortcut to the voice recorder to one of the selection keys? This can get it going in just 2 Key presses.

If you assign a shortcut key to sound recorder, when in a call the shortcut keys aren't shown as "End Call" and something else are.

The only way I have found is to take advantange of the fact that the phone can Muli-Task.

Before making the call, open the sound recorder once opened hold down the menu button to have the program running in the background.

Once the number is dialled you can hold your menu button down again, which will bring the recorder back to the front and you can record. (Note, you can only use the task switching whilst in the call, whilst it is ringing it doesn't give you the option), I guess this is so you have to tell the person on the other end that you are recording or you need to do something to your phone. There is a "beep" every 5 seconds or so when you are recording.
