hi, im a newb at the n80 as hav not even had it a day yet. just wondering wether there is a way to set an image or animated image as the scren saver rather than the normal time screen.

also, a little less n80 orientated, is there a way to send several images files at once via bluetooth.
thinks for your help.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.1; U; en-us) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413)

You cant easily set an image as the screensaver. You may be able to change it in the Themes application,

cool that you can transfer multiple files FROM the phone via bluetooth, but how about transferring TO the phone with Bluetooth? Where should the files "go" on the phone? What folder? C: or E: drive when the memory card is installed?

Thanks!

I would stick all files you transfer, to your memory card. The last thing you want is to run short of phone memory by clogging it up with pictures and sounds. Once you have received the file (they all come up as messages received) you will get the chance to save it, pictures are saved to 'gallery' Music to the 'music library'

You could also tell your phone to store all of your text messages on the memory card, this too saves phone memory. You can do this by selecting messag/options/settings/other it's in there.

when I did this it gave me the option to copy all my messages to my memory card

As I mentioned you can't easily set an image as a screensaver. In theory you could make a screensaver, but I haven't seen an easy way to do this.

Handy Clock and Handy Weather both come with nice screensavers (Epoware made one that integrates with the respective program).

Hi Cash,

I've just changed from phone mem to card mem...and it gave no option to save messages to card.

I've also tried
> inbox..open
>Options...mark all
but it doesn't give me any option to copy to card.

Confused. I definitely want any transferred files on my memory card. But how do you GET files from, say, your PC to the card? Is it not about dragging and dropping into "Bluetooth Places"? I know this is a REALLY elementary question... Thanks for being patient.

Also, this tip about messages on the card is good. Can you get them OFF the card to then save somewhere else? And if you change to use the memory card instead of phone memory, when new messages come in, do they go straight to the card memory and still pop up as new messages?

Dave thanks for all your help on this!:icon14:

The easy thing to do is to install and use PC Suite. This is on the CD that came with your device. Or you can download it from http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite/

You can't eaily get messages off the card to somewhere else. Messages still pop up as new regardless of where they are installed.

I would recommend storing messages on the memory card only if you have to. If you ever switch memory card you will no longer see your old messages (they'll be on the old card). Most messages are very small. For the big ones that are files you can open and save them elsewhere and then saftely delete them from the Inobox.

This is EXCELLENT information!

But what you said here about "big ones that are files you can open" - does that mean for example MMS messages that come through and appear to be an attachment?
