Transferring files to N80 with Bluetooth?

7 replies · 1,841 views · Started 28 June 2006

Hi all - I am new to Nokia, coming back from a long stint with Motorola, so be patient.

When I would use Bluetooth to add music and pictures to the memory card for my Motorola, I would just drag and drop into folders on the card for "Audio" or "Picture." Tried this with the N80, but the music player doesn't find the music files, even though I can SEE them on the card. :con?

Is there an easy step-by-step instruction that anyone can offer for getting your files onto the memory card (off the PC using Bluetooth), and where to put them or how to arrange them so that they can be seen/read correctly by the phone?

THANK YOU SO MUCH! :icon14:

I put all my music in the music folder of my mem card

You have to update the music library manually everytime you add new music, for some reason this isn't done automatically.

Go into the player then options > music library > select > options > update music library

Should be ok now

Did you have to "create" a folder called music on your memory card or was it there already when you viewed the card for the first time?

Thanks for the reply!

BTW - is this the same for photos?

all folders were already there, the phone must create them when the card is first inserted

Inserted into the phone or inserted into the computer? Or how about when viewed through "Bluetooth Places"?

It would be the phone... and honestly you are better off using File Manager in PC Suite as it is more fool proof for file transfer etc. Photos should appear in the gallery automatically.

That's great. I just haven't quite gotten there yet, sorry! Can you use PC Suite using Bluetooth or do you have to use the USB cable?
