Quick tricks I learned elsewhere:

Probably not new for more advanced users but I figured may be of use to some of you:

Tip 1: Finally figured out what the edit button (pencil button- to the left of the menu) does!

Did you know.. in the inbox for example; if u wanna delete multiple sms, simply hold the edit button, scroll down, and then, press c to delete the marked sms. The edit button can also b used to copy and past text in sms, simply hold it and scroll across, choose copy.

Tip 2: While you are viewing a picture in your phone's gallery, press one of these shortcut keys

7 - press it twice (once takes you to 25% zoom) twice takes the photo into full screen
5 - zoom in
0 - zoom out

Tip 3: In standby mode, press and hold 0 to launch your WLAN/3portal etc home page.

Tip 4: In Menu or any subfolder, press numbers to start the application at that location.E.g if music player is two along and two down press 5 etc etc

Tip 5: If you have your keylock activated just press the on/off button to turn on your backlight to look at the time when it's dark without having to unlock the keypad.

Thx, always usefull!

Another tip: Press down the menubutton (right of the pencil) to see running applications.

another one..

press + hold down the button on top of the red hang up one... (dunno what the "official" name of that button is lol...)

Starts the voice recognition, will hear a little noise, then say the name of the person you want to phone from your contact, and voila...

ut.

Press and hold the # button on the main screen to instantly switch to silent profile. Hold it again to swithc back to the previous profile.

If you have your N80 closed and unlocked, press the power button, then down and OK to key lock it.

To eject the memory card without having to go through the menu, press the power button, then up, then OK and it will go through the eject procedure.

I found both of these very useful.

there is a little app here that you may find a better way to lock your phone

you can assign anykey to lock your phone, I use the left soft key and can lock the phone with just pressing one button, much easier than the way you described 😊

'Fraid not Cash. For some reason with the miniSD cards there isn't that little switch on the door to the hole like with the mobileMMC cards.

Then the N80 complains if you remove the card prematurely, unless you go through those steps. So much for plug and play.

I stand corrected , cant have a play with my N80 at the moment because I am on the 3rd 16h recharge cycle with the phone switched off, cant play untill tomorrow morning, just hope the battery life increases 😊.
