Virus sending out MMS, reset phone, insert sim error!

3 replies · 6,127 views · Started 28 June 2006

I am posting this for a friend at work, who's 7610 was sending MMS without him knowing, the phone is on Orange who suspected it was a virus and would not help, I gave him the reset code for the phone....*#7370#, he replied that it needed the pin ( I guess phone pin) which is default 12345 which he used...it waited for a while and the phone restarted.
The phone asks to insert sim, he has tried several Orange sims and it does not recognise them...any ideas?

Do that again, but without any SIM card inside the phone. After reboot, than put the SIM inside the phone. Should work! The virus, was, Cabir!

It cant be Cabir.Cabir sends itself via BLUETOOTH and not via mms.May it was CommWarrior

SymbOS.Commwarrior is a worm that replicates on the Symbian OS, which is used as the operating system for Nokia Series 60 cellular telephones. It attempts to spread using Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) and Bluetooth as a randomly named .sis file. If it is the first hour of the 14th of any month, the threat resets the device.
