Hello,
Is there a way that I can switch profiles according to a schedule. At night I always switch my phone to silent before going to bed, but then forget to switch it back again to General when I get up.
I've seen PsiLoc's Extended Profiles which sounds exactly what I want, but it's not available for S60 3rd Edition.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks very much,
Richard
yer somet like this would be cool if it lets u set a mon - fri schedule and a weekend one ,
Psiloc extended profiles is indeed exactly what you need - been using this for ages on my 6600, 6630 and 6680.....but as you point out, no 3rd edition version yet.
I emailed psiloc over a month ago and was told that a new version would be out 'within a couple of months'. I must admit to being a bit surprised by this as I thought they were a major player in the world of Symbian and that they would have had advance copies of the 3rd edition SDK.
Thanks for the replies.
I'll just have to wait for Psiloc then.
Thanks,
Richard
This little util sounds too good to be true, you have to wonder why no phone manufacturer has thought of it before. I scrapped my Orange phone because they sent me network text messages at 3am and it used to wake me. I have pushmail on my N80 and have to switch to silent each night so the odd spam or message from friends abroad do not wake me.
I always seem to forget to turn the phone back to general so once this is released for the N80 I will be buyng it. I've emailed them asking when it will be and maybe the more requests they get from users the quicker they will get to work on it.
DaveLFC - for push email - have you considered using the scheduling system to turn it off at night. Should be in the Settings - called active hours I believe.
I'm sure we'll see something around profiles from other dvelopers soon.
I use mobile mail and it does not seem to have scheduled hours in the settings. I can't find any other settings for it.
I sent an email to PsiLoc to see if they had any news on a release:
We are still working to make all of our applications compatible with 3rd
edition. At this moment I can not give you exact date of release new
versions.

My old panasonic gd90 did this... you could also schedule what time to turn the phone on/off.
DaveLFC - hmm not familiar with mobile mail. If this is a standard POP account it should be under Automatic Retrieval.
This is a program that I had to download from '3' to get my isp mail direct to my phone. I will phone their support department although they will probably advise me to either put the phone on silent or select the 'pause' setting on mobile mail.
