Sync4J - SyncML - Synchronization

Dare we start a thread talking about the various ways that we can sync our Symbian to our PC...er...computer without having to have Microsoft Outlook.

WOW! Did I just curse!???

I'd like to discuss SymcML and describe what I'm doing here to try to fully setup my SyncML server on my Mac (at home) and my Linux server (at the office). This will apply to your PC (windows) as well since what I will focus on is Java.

Currently my SyncML server is setup on my Mac. I'm syncing via an IP network connection. So, I'm currenty using Wifi on my Nokia E61. I'd be curious if it could work via a serial port without some advanced routing software...but if you have GRPS, perhaps you can use the internet to try some syncing.

So, this thread may not apply to all, but there are a bunch of smart folks out there that could possibly contribute ideas.

We could even start another thread discussing iSync on the Mac. There are a lot of great forums for that.

And...this may not be the right place to discuss this anyway...I'm sure the forum moderators will let me know....

Any thoughts?....

Cheers!
