i try to access my hotmail account using pop3 but it doesnt work. i cant find a place where it tells me the incoming mail server, or outgoing mail server. i always find people posting things that end up needing to register and pay. is there anyway i can access my hotmail using pop3. i mean if i have to pay i rather pay microsoft than a company i dont know. please help. i am a student in need to use this hotmail function.

You can only access POP on Hotmail if you have paid for the premium service.
A free alternative is GMail.
And then it's not POP3, it's HTTPS.

You can use Gmail with POP3 if you want to, I believe.

Just to ease of the readers of this thread, here's the solution submitted by Ignition101:
Hotmail Incoming Mail Server (POP3): pop3hot.com (port 110)
Hotmail Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): pop3hot.com

Note that with pop3hot.com, your are giving your Hotmail username and password to an unknown (more or less) 3rd party (those servers are not operated by Microsoft Hotmail).
