Ok I have had enough with the poor signal at work because of being on the edge of the 3g network so all day it goes from 3 bars of 2g to 0 bars of 3g so im gonna flash it to put it on gsm mode while at work.

This will be the first phone i will have ever flashed.
were can i get the files i need to do it at the min im on this which is there firmware

Are you sure?

I've read people saying if you install an older firmware you will knacker your phone.

And 3.0618.0.2 is the latest I think.

So be careful.

I don't know much about it mind - just what I've read.

Yea it looks like you already have the latest firmware mate

Yeah But the firmware I have is not the generic one it's a firmware from 3 and they lock out the menu to use gsm only that�s why I want to change it

I have a similar problem, I am in a great signsl area at work (Full 3G signal outside the building) but inside the building the signal switches from 3G to GSM all day (I am next to a control centre that has some form of dampning field to restrict interference or something like that, it does not seem to affect the GSM signal)

I would be interested to know how the flashing goes, I am still within the 14day return period but would like to stay with 3 as it is a good deal.

Do Orange and Voda allow you to lock onto their GSM signal?
