orb and the n80, anybody get video workin smoothly?

i got orb workin with my n80, but only through my own wireless network, ive tried others, and tried cingulars data network, doesnt seem to be enough bandwidth on either, is there any settings or any ways of getting it optimized for cingulars data network or other lower bandwidth connections?

Does cingular allow port 554 (realplayer streaming port) t-mobile blocks it, so you can try to change it under orb's advanced settings

thanks i figured out getting it to work, now the question is, can i get it working smoothly over cingulars edge network ;P and yes cingular allows the port, the propblem was, my linksys router didnt ;P

hi,
Would you care to elaborate on how you get orb working with your wi-fi connection?, i can't get mine working for love nor money, im using a netgear router and have n80 firmware version v3.0617.0.6, i have read many posts regarding this and i have tried the specify network connection in real player for each new orb session still to no avail. Please help!! i love the concept of orb.
p.s the orb test streams work fine.:con?

all i did was log into my.org.com from the n80 web browser, navigated to my videos, and picked what i wanted, streamed fine with the wifi, try fowarding ports 80 and 554 as well. good luck

make sure you setup the realplayer in the N80 to be using the current ntwk u want..

for example, when i was doing this at home i had to tell Real player to use my home wifi ntwk...

open realplayer -> settings -> network

and set it in there. hope this helps,

Just curious, have you installed Real Player on your pc? I found that streaming didn't work until I'd installed the free player...

also you may want to try selecting 3gp in the tools menu of orb when you open up the orb browser

This helped somebody else here stream media

Forwarding to what ? The pc or the n80

SOLVED!!

It turns out that i needed to disable wpi firewall settings in my netgear router admin, working sweet im so happy:redface:
