The ever reliable Jukka over at the S60.com Multimedia blog has been given a Nokia N92 to play with and has written about his experiences so far. Whether or not the N92 makes it to market in its current form, the comments still make for interesting reading.

Thanks. I think it's better to call it a preview, since it's not final SW and HW.
Not very impressive... Is big, heavy and do the things well, but not the best in any area. Maybe, only the not tested TV Broadcasting thing, could help. Maybe, only, to be a tester device, like 7710!
If they want to make mobile TV mass market they ought to make a DVB-H compatible phone that doesn't have all the expensive extra stuff like good cameras etc.
Maybe a slider phone would be good for TV?
I thought the the N92 was technically impressive when I saw it. The Mobile DVB-H stuff is great and I would seriously consider such a handset provided the cost of reception wasn't too much (no more thean £7 per month).
However the N92 is very big, and more seriously in some ways has a poor keypad.
Krisse, I think you have a good point there.
Rafe, could you elaborate on the keypad issue?
I found the keypad squishy (to be fair that was proto hardware). It didn't have very good tactile feedback (i.e. the indication that you had clicked a button wasn't too good). They seemed to be molded out of a single sheet of rubber and it was hard to differentiate between them without looking down at the labels.
Worse was the relative inacessibility of some keys (softkeys) when the screen is folded into landscape (TV watching) mode. I maybe being overly harsh, but that was my impression.
Rafe, I see. But if that was more than couple of months ago, let me say the keypad has been totally remodelled. I think you as journalists should be pretty careful about commenting 'work in progress' as in proto hardware (same goes for software). Of course one could argue that's partly Nokia's fault if they send you non-working samples, but I guess they want to send you something instead of nothing..
I don't have any problems with the current keypad, but that's all my personal comments of course.
