Hi Folks,
I bought a SIM free N80 last week (Visiting forums after the fact is enough to give me the horrors but then I've "upgraded" from a Moto RAZR V3 so I've used much, much, worse), and it appears that LifeBlog wasn't pre-installed in the My Own folder.
The PC version came on the PC Suite installation CD but no sign of the sis file so I hopped over to nokia.com/lifeblog which lands me here..
http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,,71751,00.html
..where upon I get a nice infinite loop when I attempt to download the mobile version. You click download and it dumps you back to the landing page. So, would anyone have a direct link to a real file on Nokia's site?
Thanks. 😊
Same problem here with the loop on the website. Since Lifeblog 2.0 for the mobile is a free download, can anyone point to a copy to download? I lost my installed version when I did a factory reset today.
Thanks.
Simon
Hi,
Try refreshing the page and/or clearing your browser cache. There've been updates on Nokia Europe web site, possibly that caused some troubles. I can download Lifeblog SIS for N80 at the moment without any problems.

The majority of complaints people have with the N80 on here are because they do not understand how to use/configure it correctly, as it is quite an advanced bit of kit.
I would not take notice of most of the complaints, it is a very good phone and I have had -once I upgraded the firmware, which ironed out a couple of minor bugs- absolutely no problems with it.

Exactly, dont be scared off by the amount of posts here ... I think many people either dont understand, or read the instruction manuals completely and come to these forums for a quick answer so a specific problem that they cant be bothered to look up in the manual and it makes the N80 look like there are many small problems, My advise to anybody with a sophisticated phone like the N80 is to take a couple of days to read and understand the manual, and also research on the net, then if problems still exist they are probably genuine problems and not configuration problems and anybody on this forum would be more than happy to help

Thanks, that did the trick. The problem was that cache files are held centrally on our network at work, so even though I cleared local cache it was still looking at the central cache.
Thanks again.

Thanks for that, it did the trick for me as well. It looks like my ISP cached a non-functioning version because it worked fine when I jumped networks.
As for the N80 it's early days but I'm quite impressed with it at the moment. No weirdness to speak of, it syncs my appointments from Outlook via Bluetooth just fine and the web browser is wizzy enough to allow me to have a look around online when I've some time to waste while waiting for people.
It's a "smart" phone, and that's kind of cool. 😊
I can't get the sync to the PC Lifeblog software to work. It goes through the motions but each phone entry comes up with a failed message and, although the sync says it has been successful, I get nothing on the PC.
Anyone got this working?
Thanks.

I tried that earlier today but perhaps I didn't do something correctly as it went off, located another Bluetooth compatible Nokia phone and tried to sync the lifeblog stuff with that. Even though I'd just sync'd with PC Suite a moment earlier.
Using the copy from phone option in the LifeBlog PC app did the job correctly though.

I am connecting to the PC using a USB cable connection. It says it is syncing but nothing appears on the PC.
Are you using the latest version of PC Suite? (6.8)
Some functions (Backup for example) didn't work until I upgraded the version which I had installed from the media CD to the latest version on Nokia's site.
Hi
Yes. the latest version of PC Suite, DirectX and Lifeblog. I even had to do a full factory reset of my N80 last night so I have a relatively clean phone.
I am sure this will be something simple, just need to find out what it is!
