Flash lite 2

Does anybody know if flash lite 2 will be released for the N80, I find many flash websites I go to are not compatible with flash lite 1.1 and I guess flash lite 2 will address many of the problems.

Or does anybody have another phone with flash lite 2 where they can compare websites to see what the difference is.

I am mostly interested in streaming music and media and I dont think flash lite 1.1 supports this.

It seems CRAZY that Nokia didnt include flash lite 2 with the N80

cheers

Anyones flash player actually work?

I Always get the "Corrupt file" message when I try to play a flash file

I think its because its a vry basic and old player and is not really usable or practical, I think FL 2 will address many problems, but would be nice to know if it will be available for N80, its on the N70 and N90 so maybe they just dont have one yet for S60 3E

Flash Lite 2 will be a standard feature in S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 phones. I would assume there will be FL 2 for N80 etc from the Adobe site in due course.

Flash Lite is a specific sub set on Flash and so you will generally need Flash Lite files (and yes this is an over simplicifcation).

Cash - I have flash lite 2.0 on the N70, and have tested a few standard .swfs files with no problems (homestarrunner anims, for example). If you want to list your websites, i can check them out.

I'm curious because i'm just about to order an N80!

There is one program that initially got me interested in this issue, its an MP3 streaming program you install on your computer that you access via a flash website.

It looks like quite a good way to just stream music as it has a flash mp3 player and looks very easy to use, as opposed to orb that streams everything else and although I think orb is fantastic, I think a dedicated MP3 streamer like this is actually better.

But obviously I cant test it.

So would be great if you could do it and report back.

I will try dig out the website,

Ok here it is http://www.vibestreamer.com/

It works really well computer to computer, but would be interested to see what its like computer to N80, especially if Nokia will introduce flash lite 2 at a later date.

You could try www.orb.com to stream as well, which doesn't require Flash.

It doesn't look like Flash Lite allows you to load a URL. Only seems to let you select local/removable memory.

Cheers Blade, already running orb for a long time now 😊..great piece of software 😊..and orks great with the N80,

The other I asked you to look at just looked a lot easier to use, but if it doesnt work, well thats that, I have mentioned to them the N80 would be a great piece of hardware to run their app, so lets hope they try figure something out, maybe a java app or something (not clued up on this so I dont really know what I am talking about 😊 )
