Viewing text files possible ?

hi there just wondering if it possible to view text files on the phone ? Ideally i want to be able to transfer the standard office product files to my phone and read them whilst on the train. Whilst i doubt its possible to view them as mentioned above is there a format i can convert the files to, to make them viewable on the phone ?

You could conver them to PDF and use Adobe Acrobat Reader, or use an app like QuickOffice that shows MS Office files.

The built-in Notes app open also text files, if you open a text file via the File Manager, but it isn't very good for viewing large texts.
