02 - Anyone have this preinstalled on their o2sims and N80's?

Ive noticed on the past two o2 sims I have had that there is an o2 option to "Get Settings" which requires the sim to send a message. Ive allowed it to send a couple of times but not got any messages back.. Is there a point to this?

Also.. And this is weird.. On my new 3G Sim on the N80

If you go into the SETTINGS WIZARD - In the email and operator options... when you click into it there is an option for o2 - and Tesco?!?

What the hell is Tesco in my phone for??

Anyone else notice that? Give it a try..

I got the phone Direct from o2 so thats why Im finding it a bit weird :con?

O2 always have SIM numbers as I recall on all of my O2, Genie, and BT Cellnet SIMs. Dialing them are supposed to send you the configuration data such as text message, GPRS, and MMS settings. I can't remember if they still work tho.

As for the Tesco thing, I dont have one, and I have no idea.

I just tried it. I got the configuration data 😊

Yep, I have O2 and Tesco in the settings wizard. Must be on the SIM though because my phone is just a vanilla Nokia unit without any branding etc.
