ok, another seemingly silly question.
when using the web browser, your'e obvioulsy connected to the net. my question is how do you know when you are disconnected?
is it when you close the browser?
also, if you keep a window open, but do not move around or click any links, do you then pay while the browser is open or not?

best way is to just press the red end call button, that seems to close the application that you were in.
also you can hold down the menu button for a couple of seconds and that will list all open applications, and you can close whichever one by highlighting and pressing the "C" button
Have a look in this forum for the thread that tels tou about shortcuts and hidden features and tips, there are many good tips there.
In the N80 manual it does do this. If you have a 3G/PRS connection the signal icon in the top left should turn solid. If you are using Wifi you should get a square in quaters on the top right-ish of the screen. For GSM I'm not so sure.
If you really want to make sure you have disconnected you can go to the Active Connections program in the Connections folder in the menu. If you are connected to anything it'll be in there you can press 'C' to close the connection.
A long press of the red/hangup key in the standby mode will also close open packet data connections.
