RSS is fast becoming a tool of the mainstream and not a preserve of the geek. Ewan reviews Headline, a new S60 3rd Edition (and 2nd Edition, etc.) RSS client that offers every feature you could ever wish for and which may just change the way you keep up with the world...

I may be missing something here but I can't see the advantage this has over the other RSS reader, FreeNews. If I subscribe to a News feed, it still only retrieves the article headline and not the full article, ie the BBC News website. If I want to read the article I have to launch the browser, whereas FreeNews will pick up the article text as well (though you will still have to go online to get it). Also, FreeNews is configurable via the web, so it's easy to set up feeds online.
Nice review!
With the advent of wifi capable phones, Headline's ability to read news stories while off-line has become a truly killer feature. Headline can download all my news feeds and stories each morning for FREE on my home wireless net. I can then read them throughout the day without incurring any mobile charges (only clicking on to download the full web page, if I really need too).
My only gripe with Headline, is it really aint pretty. It looks a bit like it was written for windows 3.2. Thankfully, as you point out, tweaking a LOT of the settings helps. If wildpalm would only change that font & get rid of the yellow background it'd look a lot better.
My current favourite rss reader is litefeeds (litefeeds.com) It's completely free. It's mobile client works on most phone platforms & it has a beautifully clean GUI. You can not only manage your feeds through their web site but read them there too, in an equally attractive UI. At the moment the phone client doesn't support off line reading but it is something they are hoping to introduce in a future release.
I'm seriously hoping they do but in the mean time Headline is looking very tempting...
