Before N80 i used to have Sharp GX30.
one of the best things about GX30 was that you could turn on the flashlight at any time by holding one of the side buttons. it's not a feature that's used very often but very handy nevertheless.
Now, N80 also has a super bright LED. and it can also stay on for prolonged periods as can be seen when shooting a video.
the question is: is there a way to turn the light on from standby mode?
Hi,

NTorch for N80/N71
Coming Soon!
nice to hear that such software is in development. it'll be on of the apps on my active standby screen 😊
would be nice if they'll put in a feature that allows you to change the brightness of the light.
In the meanwhile though, if you're really stuck in the dark and have nothing but your phone... start filming a video! LED is constnatly on while using the phone as camcoder. it's not very bright, but heh, it does the job 😊
I too was looking everywhere for the same feature.
I used to have a SE W800i before the N80, and that had the option of using it as a Flashlight too. Heck, that even had an SOS option of a flashing light.
For such an advanced phone, it's a shame that the N80 doesn't have many of the things I'd consider basic.
That takes you to the N70 forum. I thought N70 software doesn't work on N80??????
get spot on, i got it to keep my back light on and discovered it contained a option to turn the camera light(flash) on
thanks for posting the link, couldnt remember where i got it from
how do i leave the light on when i have the video mode on?
just start recording , in either day or night mode and the light will come on, and if you pause the videoing it will stay on saving memory
