Hi,
I have transfered Destinator (tomtom) software on to my 1GB memory card
(6630) using nokia PC suit software. when i tried installing in the phone, i found the EXE file is in ? mark..(unrecognised format). when i clicked it, gives an error - File manager: UNKNOWN FILE FORMAT.
it took 70 minutes for the software transfer from PC to Phone. but when i see the files in phone, the exe's looked unknown format...

Please tell me the method to install any software on to nokia 6630 phone.

Thanks.

Any software: best way is with copy of files to the card, then with FExplorer, do the installation process.

.exe files can't be recognized by a symbian phone, this sort is intended for PC's. You can only install .sis and jar files applications in your phone

Good point! Any software, compatible...

Not exactly. The .exe extension is not unique to PC's or Windows.

While the Symbian installation package is a .sis file (like .msi on Windows, for example), it can contain executable files with the .exe extension. On Symbian versions prior to 9, the .exe files are background server programs without any user interface (the programs with an UI, are .app files). On Symbian 9 and onwards, they're both .exe files.

Yes, inside the sis file, not alone, like in a PC World. Now, OS 9, have exe files like direct files?

yes sir I am only giving him an overview and a little backgrounder, anyway thanks for the addition.
