Not unless you install a web server or some other kind of file sharing server on your phone. Not many of those around, though.
I cant through wifi, but with blutooth I can, seems a little strange they didnt include this feature for wifi..
Phone memory by bluetooth?

yes, through blutooth I can access my N80 memory and memory card from my pc quite easily.

So do I. Gallery, Messages, not phone stuff.

Ok! We speek about the same thing.
Thanks for your replys,
I will have a look at finding a web server for the N80
I can access through bluetooth as well, but this is a bit slow when transfering photos.
When I got the phone I thought I could add it to my network without the need for 3rd party software.

One would have thought that should be included inthe phones features...but sadly not

Is the home networking tool in the connections folder from the menu not adiqute? Ive not really played around, but seems to be exactly what you are talking about.
Secondly wifi is quite different from bluetooth, saying if bluetooth can wifi should, is like saying "my usb memory drive can store files, so why cant my ethernet network?"
well Networking tool its for UPNP and u need simple server to get it working, thats another way, but what we want its that the phone can be accessed tru windows explorer
cheers

_DX_ Thanks mate I hope you can work it out.It would be great if the N80 would be listed in with the other drives.
I have had a few problems with simple centre ie I can send to phone but cannot retrieve from phone, I have just reinstalled it & now simple centre will not even connect to the N80!! so I find it unreliable.
I understand that there are differences between bluetooth & wifi, but they are both designed as a wireless communication tool, WiFi is quicker. therefore it would be a better connection to use when sending big files to & from the PC.
The 'Home networking' tool is needed to add the sharing attribute to folders & files.

well, keep working Dx couse this SimpleCenter like s**t it's a shame. I'd like to browse my N80 files the same way like I browse my notebook files over Wi-Fi, copy & run files in regular file browser.
i keep working on this, havent found any way to do this, anywas i found how n80 works on upnp, that migh help someone to writte a plug in
Cheers _Dx_

from networking experience what you need is an application for the S60 3rd edition that uses the phones memory like a network drive. I dont really know the ins and the outs of network drives, but they tend to be expensive, and since 3rd edition software is a little thin on the ground we might not see this software for a while.

I dont have a lot of success with home media server.
SymSMB v.1.10 from telexy.com is just designed for that!

You just have written SymSMB v.1.10 short description... Trial version is available.
... Its not cheap, it $20 USD.
But well, what to expect if there is no any competitors around. Even Windows Mobile doesn't!
That means that telexy implemented on mobile phones protocol developed by Microsoft (we are talking about SMB) faster then Microsoft did it.

Telexy SymSMB <---- this is what you need.
cant you just use your USB cable and Mass Storage mode??
kontraband wrote:cant you just use your USB cable and Mass Storage mode??
Yes you can, BUT:
1) It will be not the phone anymore, as in Mass Storage mode you can't call and cant even accept calls. Basically you can't do anything on your phone when it is in Mass Storage mode.
2) In Mass storage mode your access is quite limited comparing to SymSMB.
On the other side you will get better speed with USB Mass Storage mode.
yeah, I was aware t knocked the phone into offline mode... but didnt know about how restricted it was... as have only used that mode once.. thanks for the info tho :icon14:
