I'm a new member to the forum & the site's pretty wonderful. Well my prob is that after few downloads on my 3230, i deleted some tones & pic's thru the PC Suite & now the default sms tone & default ring tones (eg Nokia tune) are not shown on the phone, but its available when i create a new profile. pls advice me as to how can i get the roiginal stuff back. also is there any way to have a complete reset (other tha *#7780#) so that everything will be defualt, coz I also have some prob's with my themes. 3230 default sms/ring tone & master reset
I doubt if you can delete the default sms and nokia ringtone - they are stored on a ROM chip...problem might be something else.
Try changing your default profile to set the nokia tune as the current one.....

Me too! Try other things, but ROM things, You can delete.
hi guys, tks 4 de fast response. when i go to the deafult 'general' profile & go to 'persoanlize' ,the 'message' shows 'message.mid' which is correct. but when i try to 'change' it the standard messsage tones are still not shown, instead it begins as 'off'. for your information.... is there any way to get the default theme back to the 3230? now sometimes when i browse thru the 3230, commands appear twice (only sometimes)... appreciate ur expert comments pls..
Do a hard reset (you lose everything): Same time - green + 3 + * and power on!
But I steel believe that You don�t erase ROM things.
hi guys, tks for de fast responses i'm getting. i've decided to go for a hasr format as explained. can someone pls advice me how to back up all phone memory data into MMC? I just downloaded 'FExplorer' but not very familiar with data transfers. i am planning to use the format method (green key+3+*) appreciate expert comments/advice, tks.
Better use more than one methot, just is case... Make a memory Phone backup to the card. Then, syncronize all contacts with Outlook. Store the messages with PCSuite - Messages. Shoul be enouth.

tks buddy. nway i backed up the phone data into MMC, removed the MMC & then did the formatting (green key + 3 + *) as per ur advice it worked perfect & i got my default tones back...... but the same prob came back as soon as I inserted the MMC & restored the phone data, lol. anyway it sok, i've decided to continue as it is 😊 btw is formatting harmful to the phone? also will u pls advice me the benefits & how to use the FExplorer? it looks a bit complicated... tks loads nj7...
hi nj7, I found the default nokia ring/sms tones in 'Z:\Nokia\Sounds\Digital' but i cannot open any of those files as i get the message 'Unknown file format' Do you have any idea how to restore them ? I copy pasted them to my MMC but still cannot open, tks.
The problem passes to backup, then, it cannot be this the method. You can always to repeat everything, but only keeping contact, messages and calendar, through the PCSuite.
Format, don�t have any problem to the phone. You can do many times as You want.
FExplore, just use, and use a lot. After same time, that thing becames Yours swiss penknife, of phone. Is not complicated, but You need accustom.
From Z, You can see, but nothing else, because are the ROM files. So they are the original ones. You restore then, when You do a format... it�s because of that, only if You make a backup of Yours onwn files, format, and install again can resolve the problem (but don�t install the program that make the problem, if You now which is!!!).

Rename is direct, go to option, and, change name! The icons, You can install a diferent theme. If has a dedicated program, I don�t know!
