@-symbol in Calender

Hi,

Could anyone tell me how i get ride of that @-symbol in my appointments / calender? In front of the location is this symbol and i don't know where it came from. For example it's shows @(New York) in stead of (New York). When i open the appointment there is no @-symbol anywhere.

Anyone?:con?

Thanks Wout

Hi,

But what is it's function? Is it a replacement voor "at"? Weird, but i think i need to get used to it.😎

Thanks for replying.:icon14:

I guess that's what it is - a replacement for "at" - but it is a bit sloppy - you're right. I guess you don't really need the brackets round the Location if the @ is there. Or the @ if the brackets are there. I think you'll have to get used to it, yes! Like only being able to see 3 emails in Messages without scrolling. But it's still heaps more feature rich than S60!!

At the risk of being boring, I want to say (again) that it continually puts me in a funk that the calendar is so limited compared to the calendar on the old Revo. You could do neat things with that calendar app. For example, you could have complete word files linked from inside calendar entries. No go on S80.

Also, you didn't have to put up with the machine changing the times of all your entries when you go to a new timezone, as you do on the S80. I've ranted about this elsewhere - if the machine does this, it should allow you to enter a time relative to a timezone and give you the option of displaying an entry in more than one time (relative to a timezone), so you don't have to masses of mental arithmetic across timezones, calculating when an appointment actually us relative to the timezone where you will be or were when the appointment is current, rather than relative to where you happen to be now (which could in principle be anywhere, having nothign to do with the appointment).

You know why the calendar app is limited in these ways? Despite Symbian's attempt to forge a path independent of Microshit, it's all about Microshit. Basically, business customers have to be able to sync with Microshit products on their PCs, otherwise S80 won't sell. So any features not compatible with the Microshit standard has to go - and Microshit products, are, well, shit, and devoid of many useful features. Hence the dropping of the features so handy on the Revo. Aggravating, huh?

By the way, I'd also like to be able to make proper use of colour in the calendar app - for example, by having different entries have different colours (so that my to-do notes, which i basically enter as calendar appointments because it's the easiest, could be in a different colour, etc).

Blah! 😡
