No joy with my other thread which mentions this!
New N70 - I get that performance may not always be as 'zippy' as on a non-smartphone.
Is it normal when e.g. changing themes or on other processor/graphics-intensive tasks for screen redraws to slow down leaving blocks of white background which fill in 'piece by piece'?
I have noticed other white 'flashes' on the screen which I suspect is down to soft/firmware performance but am hoping that someone will confirm this as normal.
Thanks!
Can be! N70, see it like a small PC (I dont work for Nokia and talk like that because they want), but is the way I see the smartphone segment since 7650! A small PC, with constrains, like CPU, memory, graphic board, like the others. Now, when you try to install a very demanding aplication (theme - graphic aplication), could be limitations of that small PC, again, like a normal PC. My notebook have also some limitations... try run a very demanding game on it! So, Why not N70?
Thanks - this is my thinking!
However, I would like to see if other N70s are the same - please take a look at my other thread (last post)

to see if yours is the same.
Thanks again for any views!
Righty27 - * On some e.g. menu selections, a white line/bar momentarily flashes, as if redrawing the display. This is consistent with the selection and e.g. may be the height of the option/field being selected. As not totally random, I suspect that this is soft/firmware-related and not necessarily hardware. Have others noticed this -is this normal?
Yes, and other things of that kind. But that and other display things happens also in 3230, 6630 (less, because is a realy fast device), N-Gage, 6600, N91... the devices I see more.
The difference, is I see that happens so many times, that I even note anymore.
Is a normal PC anomalies, that dont worry me at all.
nj7 - thank you for confirming that this is normal ... just wanted to ensure not a hardware fault while still in warranty return period.
Muito obrigato 😊 😊
You are welcome!😊
:icon14: Good effort --> "Obrigado"😉
Was going to spell it as it sounds - "obrigado" but foolishly googled and found the wrong spelling!!!! :redface: :icon14:
