Hi everyone,
I installed a BES earlier and set my E61 to work on it, but it would not send emails and would not lookup the company address book.
after lots of head scratching and pondering i got it working and it appears to be that upon installing the BES i had changed the default encryption from DES to AES with it being a more advanced standard.
However, it appears that the E61 / symbian OS wont / cant use AES.
So i changed it to Mixed Mode (DES & AES) and flushed the encryption keys through the BES and 2 minutes later all my email came through and i can now lookup the company address book.
I just wanted to:
a. give a heads up to others that find themselves in the same position
b. find out if anyone else has experienced similar or if its a problem soley born of my own making?
c. ask that if this is the case, why the heck did Nokia/Symbian completely ignore something so important and part of the BES standard softwareif they expect to go head-to-head with Blackberry?
Regards,
