Interesting to see the Nokia E61 pop up (initially in very positive context) amidst these discussions about what's wrong with Palm, a competitor (mainly) in the USA. Also interesting to note that while Nokia have started making waves in America, Palm have just announced a Treo 700w variant for the UK.

LOL... one of the people speaking in defence of the Palm 700w said:
"It ... has an excellent removable battery. Take it out and see how light it is without it - practically featherweight. I suppose the question is what's more important - a few less grams of weight, or longer battery life?"
What are they suggesting, that people should try and run a Palm with no battery in it because that would be lighter? 😮
I wondered about that! "Hey, my non-working PDA is lighter than your fully working one!!"

The lack of Wifi is the deciding factor IMO.
I could never understand the use of wifi in a mobile ..before I got my E61.
Now, downloading news feeds, podcasts & worldmate weather & currency updates, for free, each morning on my home net... it's saving me a fortune on my mobile tariff! Just invaluable.
it should be noted that the screen resolution on the 700p is 320x320 compared to e61's 320x240 and 700w's 240x240
