Out of curiosity, given the free phone calls plan Gizmo have just announced, I searched around on the Internet and found some settings for my E61 and it's SIP phone. I've listed these below. I can certainly make an outgoing call, but the feedback in the headset is so bad I can hardly make out what's said. The recording on my answerphone (the one I called) was equally bad.
Anyone have any ideas on how to clean this up?

Yes I had the same experience when testing VoIP on Eseries phone. The VoIP implementation seems a bit lacking on the Eseries,
Well I wouldn't say it was lacking. It does seem to work. I think I just need to clean up these settings somewhere to clean up the noise but I'm a bit flaky on VoIP settings.
SIPgate tell me that they are working with Nokia to create the correct settings to allow the client to work with their service. That sounds positive.
E61 does have SIP issues, refer to this thread:

We worked out a valid solution using voiptalk until gizmo implements reversed ip detection or until nokia releases a new version of the client...
With the help of another topic, I got this working by switching from UDP to TCP, and I'm behind a NAT router. It also works when I'm connected to Vodafone AU's 3G network which is also behind a NAT router.
what port are you using when switching from udp to tcp?
I switched from UDP to TCP and the phone refused connect to anything. Tried this at home and at an Internet cafe. No error, just an eternal wait to connect to the other end. Switched back to UDP and connection was immediete but with poor quality.
Same port TCP 5060.

Of which the only discernable difference I can notice is UDP vs. TCP. It works for me.
Maybe it is NAT related. I think we should start identifying our routers.
I'm using an Apple Airport Extreme base station.
I am also using an Airport Extreme base station.
