You can download the SDK and a p800-emulator from Ericsson Mobility World, i've used it to play around with the menu and handwriting recognition a little, it's quite good, but I don't know if or how you can test full applications (It's quite a big download though....)

I think tomorrow is the deadline for the results on the P800's developer contest.
I expect an official content list for the acompaning CD to show up real soon (during next week ?).
I wonder if someone at SE could at least tell how many entrants where there in the contest? Tens? Hundreds?...

UPDATEOn request from many interested developers, who have had problems getting hold of the Symbian OS v7.0 UIQ SDK when not utlilizing available development tools, we have decided to prolong the P800 Application Proclamation. A new beta version of the UIQ SDK will be downloadable from www.SonyEricsson.com/codetocash from September 24. Submissions of applications to the P800 Application Proclamation will be accepted until 800 pm (CST) on December 6, 2002. Winners will be announced January 10, 2003.

I was not aware that SE had advanced with an official release date!
Everybody everywhere are speculatting if it is going to be available b4 Christmas or after Christmas.
Can you point us to an URL where that official P800 launch date was announced?

Lies lies lies sweet lies ..
man! with the P800 emulator u simulate software written in C++ and Micro Java and NOT the menu or the fuctions of the machine!

the free download contains the nessesary API's for interpreting softwares written in a text editor (plus.. the emulator)
and not the graphical interface the codewarrior has..

the P800 is already released "unofficialy" in some places like taiwan
and will be released officially to providers (in order to be sold with a connection plan [b] ONLY) before Xmas

plus.. if u really need a piece of that machine u can buy the developer kit for about 1100$$$ in which , a copy of the codewarrior (for symbian os) and a p800 is included..

note: the p800 that comes with the Developer kit , has no warrancy and no extra softwares (like the games Mib and the racing game)
nor the bluetooth headset..
