Read the new T3 magazine, I stumbled accros a mobile service that u can use to impress your m8s. Its called Shazam and works on all UK networks!

Scenario: You are in a pub with your m8s (like Jizzo always does 😊 ) and the DJ plays a banging tune....everybody goes WOW whats this tune called! Heheh Muffster has the answer! You just call the number 2580 and put you mobile (any mobile works) near the sound source. After 30 secs the phone ends the call by itslef and after some seconds you are going to receive a message with the Title and Artists of the song u were listening!

The call costs 50p (59 on Vodafone).

If Shazam does not manage to recognise the tune, O2 customers will not be charged at all! Vodafone customers are charged 9p for the connection and T Mobile and Orange customers will be charged the 50p anyways!

Hmm....That's pretty neat I suppose.

I wonder how it works?, Do they just record the sound and have "experts" on hard to send you a txt or is something much more technicaly advanced at work here.

Either way it means that I spend more money over the weekend.....Cheers Muffy.
J2theIZZO they use an algorithm and everything is done by computers! 😊
That's what they want you to think....I think there's about 5 people in a room guessing tracks 😉

Nice service, I would use it if available. Now I have to use Google for this purpose: take some words from the song and search them on the Internet. Most of the time it works! But wait a minute, maybe those five people use this trick too... 😃

Can they make also reverse process?

You send them the name of the song and they send you the .rng?

Orange has this MTV Ringtones service.

But it will cost you one 1 buck ($)

hmmpf

sounds like the second most useless mobile phone service invented

the most useless being WAP
Hahahah! Five ppl eh? No seriously. Its done by a computer!
Nope I don't beleive a word of it, I'm sure it's that Google trick eidrian mentioned 😉

LOL, ok ok! I am not going to argue with you! Buy the T3 magazine then! There is a 3 page review of the Orange SPV too! 😃 Although sometimes I think those guys know nothing about mobile phones!
