I followed the instructions on dogtoe but have been unable to flash my phone. On teh first iteration after installing phoneix 2004 when rebooted I got error messages complaining about DESkey. it seemed to be OK and I continued to update it etc as per teh instructions. when I got to teh connecting phone part, my laptop didn't 'install' any drivers at all. it just sat there. I left it a good 15 minutes to make sure it wasn't just being slow. Following the instructions further I couldn't get teh scan product to return any details so I stopped at this point. I thought I may as well start from scratch so I uninstalled phoenix. Now after reinstalling it it always complains of the missing dongle. Is there any files I need to manually delete so I can force the crack to work again?
Cheers
ian
Why do that! The upgrade process is free in Nokia Service Points and keep the garantee as it was! Now you have lose the garantee, and have a fail phone...

You should have got a crack with phoenix 2004 which emulates the dongle and re-writes the system 32 file.
In other words when installing and it asks for the dongle almost
Instantaenousley you should run the phoenix crack this will then overcome the dongle
I do run teh crack every time I'm installing, its when it starts up after the reboot(before updating to 2006) that it fails.
As for taking it to a Nokia service centre the reason I want to flash it is because its on Orange who have messed with the firmware and I want to remove stuff like the Orange photo app. I believe NSC are not allowed to reflash to a vanilla firmware. plus my local NSC is about 10 miles out of my way
