Sheet functions not inserting

This is probably me being thick, but how do I insert a function in a cell field?

I edit a cell, add the "=" manually and then use any 'Insert>Function' but nothing appears after the equals sign! What am I doing wrong?

Yes, you're right, inserting a function doesn't seem to work. Not as described in the Help file anyway. Hope that'll reassure you about your mental stability😉

No Steve, you're right. Even got the manual out and followed it step-by-step and it doesn't work. Clearly a bug.

Ouch. Rafe, do we at AAS have *any* formal way of letting Nokia know about bugs? Or do we have to just hope that someone somewhere has spotted this sort of thing?

A formal mechanism to report a bug - or even better - to get a comment from Nokia, would be wonderful. i have also just stumbled upon this bug. I can live with typing it in - but is there any help file or reference manual on how the functions actually work? I am trying to compute a future value (FV) given an initial value (PV), a number of periods (n) and an interest rate (i). =FV(PV,N,i) one would think, but it seems not. MS Excells' syntax doesnt seem to work either. Im too stingy to buy the excellent FINANZ (again!) and to lazy to learn how to write code for the phone. So it seems its back to the laptop 😞
