Finally there is ......

App called "flashlight" It uses camera flashligt as a perfect torch

1 - Install sis file
2 - Start camera and press "menu" button to hide it
3 - Start flashlight app and write code "15001" and press "test" from options menu to activate

How to close

1 - Exit from app. Open it again and write code "15000" and press "test" to deactivate.

WORKS PERFECT ON MY N70

same to me at the first..
i try to insert code 150001 .. it's done...
happy try

insert code 150001 and choose "test" from options while camera running backwards

if u can't again, i can post prewiew pıcs how to use.

It's a bit hit and miss in operation!

I found this was the best way, with slider shut to begin with:

1. Run Flashlight
2. Open camera slider (this way round there's no camera running in the background)
3. Type 150001 (not 15001, sbyugen - at least get that part right!)
4. Exit Flashlight and use the torch as you want to
5. Open Flashlight
6. Type 15000
7. Close Flashlight
8. Close slider.

Blindin' 😎

thanks drofidnas, noone said anything about having to close the flashlight program and then open it again to turn off the flashlight

ratza wrote:Guys, what firmware do you have? On my 2.0536 doesn't work at all. Just exits.

My firmware version is 2.0539.1.2 (Vodafone branded). The program works without problems on my phone.

I have a little problem with Flashlight. The light only works when I insert the code 150001, yes 150001 and not 15001. I couldn't think up a code to turn the light off. The only way to turn off the light is taking a picture with my camera. Maybe there some others with this problem. Try to take a photo to turn your light off.

Flashlight does work very well fot my N70 when I use this technique. It is a little extra work but from now on I can use my mobile as a Flashlight. Thanks for posting!!

There is another app called SpotOn but the light emitted y the flash is low, exactly how it is when recording video. It is the same for Flashlight? Can you tell if you can record videos with the flash on?

Patrick, I already covered the correct use of flashlight in Post 10 of this thread. 😊

HTH.

Brilliant. Just installed and it works perfectly. That'll come in handy in the dark mornings.

1 Question. I'm assuming there is nothing running in the background and I only need to deactivate it if i need to use the camera as a camera?...

EDIT - just realised that the light stays on even when you shut the slider....so yes, I do need to deactivate it!

I did follow the thread instruction but my N72 only produces flishing light not a steady light or torch need more help..thanks
