Blackberry Connect on N73?

4 replies · 13,000 views · Started 26 July 2006

Does anyone know if it will be possible to run Blackberry Connect on the N73?

I know it doesn't have a qwerty keyboard but I would be mainly using it for viewing email, with possible short replies (in T9?).

I have just got a friends N93 & i installed the E50 blackberry connect software on it & it installed & now in the folder "My Own" i got an icon that says APN Wizard with a small BB logo on it.
when i click that it takes me to the blackberry setup & i can click NEXT, after that it asks me if i want to configure Blackberry Soultions or Instant Email.
I can select either of them, but nothign else happens after that.

do you think that BB will work on N93?
I want to know why does the BB connect work on E series & not on N series even though the OS is same.... Whats the difference.

i'm surprised no one's answered.... is there no solution?
The both run same OS, but thee has to be something different that make the E series compatible but not the N series

I gave up on Blackberry Connect a while ago and switched to Mail for Exchange. I set up a free hosted Exchange account at Mail2Web.com and it works brilliantly.

HyPer,

N73 does work with the same OS but not with the same versions.

You can download the BlackBerry Connect Software from :

http://businesssoftware.nokia.com/blackberry_downloads.php

but you will see that a specific version of the OS is required.

when reading through the release notes you will find that the software version of the software does not match the version of the N73 (you can check this by pressing *#0000#. The release note specifically states that software versions need to match in order for the BBConnect software to run.

I haven't tried to install the software anyway since I'm changing jobs and my new employer uses BB but I have not yet received the credentials yet. If I try, I'll keep you updated.

BRgds,
Ben
